MY viewpoints: yes seo will survive as long as search engines live, so basically it depends upon the type of optimization that would be used to gain traffic. There would be technologies coming like automatic seo optimization or pages automated where there is no need for seo's, but still optimization, keyword research, web analytics research would prevail in the long term as long as seo's keep away from black hat techniques

Google 11th Birthday - Google 11 yrs
Happy birthday Google recently celebrated its 11th birthday.
Today is google's 11th anniversary in Google's history.
By Sept. 15, 1997, had registered the online name "Google" and in 1998 google came in.
Google submitted incorporation papers on September 4th. Google has also celebrated on the 7th and the 27th of September. Google have created a special logo that includes two l, representing the number 11.
