Cyber Monday is a marketing term used in U.S., for the Monday immediately following Black Friday. Black Friday may have been the most happening shopping event on the minds of most Americans this past week, but those looking for the best deals on the Web are already focusing on Cyber Monday. That's when the deals get really good and the only line you're dealing with is the one connecting you to the Internet. It's like Black Friday but without the early-morning sprinting and the deals are haphazardly scattered all over the web. It's Cyber Monday!

      Black Friday is the day immediately following Thanksgiving that, for retailers and many shoppers, is the kickoff for the Christmas season.       The term "Cyber Monday" is a neologism invented by Shop.org, part of the U.S. trade association National Retail Federation. According to Scott Silverman, the head of Shop.org, the term was coined based on research showing that 78% of online retailers reported a significant increase in sales on the Monday after Thanksgiving in 2004. In late November 2005, the New York Times reported that "The name Cyber Monday grew out of the observation that millions of otherwise productive working Americans, fresh off a Thanksgiving weekend of window shopping, were returning to high-speed Internet connections at work Monday and buying what they liked."
      Although Cyber Monday is not the biggest shopping day of the year, it is one of the busiest for online retailers. This shopping phenomenon is just like a twin to Black Friday. The best thing about Cyber Monday is that many online retailers follow this tradition and offer discounts and saving opportunities for web customers who get their orders in early on Cyber Monday. Some online retail companies also offer incentives and saving options for their first-time customers.
      Early discounts this year may have taken some of the shine off Cyber Monday but the key online holiday shopping day is still expected to attract bargain hunters who may not have had their fill over the weekend.             Those of you who have missed on its launching (4^th December’10) and are confused about its features. Let me portray an easily understandable image in front you. It is a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. It allows players to control games using a combination of body movement and spoken commands without having to hold a controller in their hands.             Now, if you are confused about its functioning, just imagine a webcam; because more or less it works like one. It can capture player’s motion through its sensors, and is also efficient in facial and voice recognition. Basically, if the player moves, the Kinect sensors can track it, and convert those motions into data used to control Kinect-ready games and features. The Kinect sensor is a horizontal bar connected to a motorized base that sits somewhere above or below the player's television set. Built into the bar is an RGB camera along with a multi-array microphone, and a depth sensor.

            Kinect needs to have the player's entire body in view at all times in order to work properly, so you'll need to have a fair amount of unobstructed space between you and the sensor. Microsoft recommends six feet of space between the player and the Kinect sensor for single-player games, and at least eight feet for two-player games. More or less, you can play five different types of kinect games with it, which are: racing games, party games, fitness games, dance/rhythm games, and Kinectimals.

A) What is Google May Day Update?
According to Matt Cutts of Google said at Google I/O and confirmed
This is an algorithmic change in Google, looking for higher quality sites to surface for long tail queries. It went through vigorous testing and isn’t going to be rolled back.


Google said this was a change to the rankings algorithm and not a change to the indexing or crawling areas.
IMPACT:

• This does impact long-tail keywords, as covered almost a month ago
• Cutts says auto-generated pages and content farms tend to get hit the most by Mayday.
• His advice to webmasters affected by it, is basically to improve quality
• Stuff that's not available anywhere else can be helpful - stuff that's not duplicate or scraped or lower quality.
• Even Cutts says you shouldn't just focus on search engines. 

According to FOX:
This change seems to have primarily impacted very large sites with “item” pages that don’t have many individual links into them, might be several clicks from the home page, and may not have substantial unique and value-added content on them. For instance, ecommerce sites often have this structure. The individual product pages are unlikely to attract external links and the majority of the content may be imported from a manufacturer database. Of course, as with any change that results in a traffic hit for some sites, other sites experience the opposite. Based on Matt’s comment at Google I/O, the pages that are now ranking well for these long tail queries are from “higher quality” sites (or perhaps are “higher quality” pages).

According to WebProNews spoke with Google's Matt Cutts at SMX Advanced, and he talked a little bit about Mayday, saying that it was designed to try and spot signals of quality on pages and sites that would be good for users.
