Azam and his associates attacked railway station Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Victoria Terminus) and attacked the police vehicle at Cama Hospital in which senior officers of Mumbai police were traveling. This was a white Qulais. They fired some shots in the air at Metro Cinema. They then drove towards Vidhan Bhavan where they fired some shots. Their vehicle had a tire punture. Then they changed vehicle there and moved towards Girgaum Chowpatty in a stolen Skoda. They were intercepted by team from the Gamdevi police station. His partner was killed and Azam was shot on his hand.
Azam Amir Kasav pretended to be dead and was taken to Nair hospital when a cop figured that he was breathing. After few moments Azam cracked in front of anti-terror squad. While the doctors were giving him aid - “I do not want to die,” he reportedly said. “Please put me on saline.”

Ammunition, a satellite phone and a map of CST was found on him. The group of ten left Karachi, Pakistan in one boat and upon reaching Gujarat they asked for help from a coast guard ship. Two Indian coast guard officers intercepted the team at Porbandar. The terrorists overpowered one of the officers and slit his throat. The other officer was coerced into helping the team. However, as they arrived within 3-4 miles of Mumbai, the remaining officer was killed and thrown overboard. Three speedboats were waiting for the terrorists.

The team broke up into separate groups.

Four left for Taj Mahal Hotel.

Two went to Trident Hotel.

Two went to Nariman House and two including Azam went to CST.
Azam is now at undisclosed location where he has confessed to killing Mr. Karkare and Mr. Salaskar.

Security UPDATES for GOOGLE CHROME:

There has been a series of security problems so google has come up with fixes, as usual its in beta so there would be issues which google would automatically fix it.

Google has update to its Chrome browser to fix some security problems.

The new version, 0.2.149.29, replaces the 0.2.149.27 that was released when Google launched the Chrome beta version last week.

"Users do not get a notification when they are updated...When there are security fixes, it's crucial that we update our users as quickly as possible in order to keep them safe. Thus, it's important for us to not require user intervention," the company said in a statement."There are some security fixes that we'll keep quiet because we don't want to disclose security vulnerabilities to attackers."


Reported vulnerabilities

#1 One security problem found in Chrome version 0.2.149.27 is a carpet-bombing vulnerability that could help an attacker install malicious software on a user's computer without giving the user a chance to accept or reject the download. Google assigned the problem a top priority.

#2 Another reported issue in Chrome 0.2.149.27 is a buffer overrun that could allow an attacker to run arbitrary code on a user's computer and thereby take control of it, according to Bach Khoa Internet Security.

#3 The company was willing to discuss some other details about the update, though. For one thing, the company updated a JavaScript problem that could cause problems using Facebook. For another, it fixed a problem that would crash the entire browser if a person typed "about:%" into the address bar. Google called the problem "non-exploitable, but very annoying," reflecting the removal of the "security" label from the bug report.

Google has improved the performance of this Flash indexing algorithm by integrating Adobe's Flash Player technology.

Google has recently come up with Indexing flash sites.

• Google has the ability to index textual content in SWF files. This includes Flash "gadgets" such as buttons or menus, self-contained Flash websites, and everything in between.
• All of the text that users can see as they interact with your Flash file. If your website contains Flash, the textual content in your Flash files can be used when Google generates a snippet for your website. Also, the words that appear in your Flash files can be used to match query terms in Google searches.
• Google has developed an algorithm that explores Flash files in the same way that a person would, by clicking buttons, entering input, and so on. Google uses the algorithm's effectiveness which was improved by utilizing Adobe's new Searchable SWF library.
• If you prefer Google to ignore your less informative content, such as a "copyright" or "loading" message, consider replacing the text within an image, which will make it effectively invisible to us.

LIMITATIONS OF Google for FLASH INDEXING:

1. Googlebot does not execute some types of JavaScript. So if your web page loads a Flash file via JavaScript, Google may not be aware of that Flash file, in which case it will not be indexed.

2. Google do not attach content from external resources that are loaded by your Flash files. If your Flash file loads an HTML file, an XML file, another SWF file, etc., Google will separately index that resource, but it will not yet be considered to be part of the content in your Flash file.

3. Google would be able to index Flash in almost all of the languages found on the web, currently there are difficulties with Flash content written in bidirectional languages. Until this is fixed, we will be unable to index Hebrew language or Arabic language content from Flash files.

4) Google can't index FLV files, such as the videos that play on YouTube, because these files contain no text elements. If your Flash files only include images, we will not recognize or index any text that may appear in those images. Similarly, we do not generate any anchor text for Flash buttons which target some URL, but which have no associated text.
Non-textual content, such as images can't be indexed by Google

Yahoo on Wednesday sent a letter to its shareholders justifying its deal with Google, saying it will enhance the company's profitability and provide more shareholder value than the offer put forth by Microsoft to invest in Yahoo's search business.

The deal with Google will generate US$250 million to $450 million in incremental operating cash flow for Yahoo in the first year, Yahoo Chairman Roy Bostock and CEO Jerry Yang wrote in the joint letter.

Together, Google, with a 61.8% share and Yahoo, with 20.6%, own 82.4% of the U.S. search market, according to comScore's latest monthly report.

Microsoft offered to acquire Yahoo in February for $44.6 billion. When Yahoo held out for more than the software giant was willing to pay, Microsoft withdrew an increased bid of $47.5 billion in early May and proposed buying Yahoo's search business for $9 billion a month later.

Shares of the world's largest software maker are down 22 percent this year, sales of Windows software are slowing, and an attempt to buy Yahoo! Inc. flopped. And Google Inc. is widening its lead over Microsoft in Internet searches, leaving Ballmer with a case of ``chronic Google envy,'' according to Jane Snorek, an analyst at Minneapolis-based First American Funds.

Common REP Directives
The following are all the major REP features currently implemented by Google, Microsoft and Yahoo!. Each of these directives can be specified to be applicable for all crawlers or for specific crawlers by targeting them to specific user-agents, which is how any crawler identifies itself. Each of us also supports Reverse DNS based authentication of our crawler, and you can use this validate the identity of any crawlers claiming a particular user-agent.

1. Robot.txt Directives

DIRECTIVE	IMPACT	USE CASE(s)
Disallow	Tells a crawler not to crawl your site or parts of your site -- your site's robots.txt still needs to be crawled to find this directive, but the disallowed pages will not be crawled.	'No crawl' pages from a site. This directive in the default syntax prevents specific path(s) of a site from crawling.
Allow	Tells a crawler the specific pages on your site you want indexed so you can use this in combination with Disallow. If both Disallow and Allow clauses apply to a URL, the most specific rule - the longest rule - applies.	This is useful in particular in conjunction with Disallow clauses, where a large section of a site is disallowed, except a small section within it.
$ Wildcard Support	Tells a crawler to match everything from the end of a URL -- large number of directories without specifying specific pages.	'No Crawl' files with specific patterns, for eg., files with certain filetypes that always have a certain extension, say pdf; etc.
Sitemap Location	Tells a crawler where it can find your sitemaps.	Point to other locations where feeds exist to point the crawlers to the site's content.

2. HTML META Directives

These directives can either be placed in the HTML of a page or in the HTTP header for non-HTML content like PDF, video, etc. using an X-Robots-Tag. The X-Robots-Tag mechanism allows these directives to be available for all types of documents -- HTML or otherwise. If both forms of the tag, HTML META and X-Robots-Tag in the header are present, the most restrictive one applies.

NOINDEX META Tag	Tells a crawler not to index a given page.	Don't index the page. This allows pages that are crawled to be kept out of the index.
NOFOLLOW META Tag	Tells a crawler not to follow a link to other content on a given page.	Prevent publicly writeable areas from being abused by spammers looking for link credit. By NOFOLLOW, you let the robot know that you are discounting all outgoing links from this page.
NOSNIPPET META Tag	Tells a crawler not to display snippets in the search results for a given page.	Present no abstract for the page on search results.
NOARCHIVE META Tag	Tells a search engine not to show a "cached" link for a given page.	Do not make a copy of the page available to users from the search engine cache.
NOODP META Tag	Tells a crawler not to use a title and snippet from the Open Directory Project for a given page.	Do not use the ODP (Open Directory Project) title and abstract for this page in Search.

Today, we announced a non-exclusive advertising agreement that will provide Yahoo! with access to our AdSense for search and AdSense for content advertising programs on their U.S. and Canadian web properties. In addition, we will work to enable interoperability between our respective instant messaging services allowing users better, broader communication online.

It is important to say what this agreement is not:

* This is not a merger. Rather, we are merely providing access to our advertising technology to Yahoo! through our AdSense program.

* This does not remove a competitor from the playing field. Yahoo! will remain in the business of search and content advertising, which gives the company a continued incentive to keep improving and innovating. Even during this agreement, Yahoo! can use our technology as much or as little as it chooses.

* This does not prevent Yahoo! from making similar arrangements with others. This arrangement is not exclusive, meaning that Yahoo! could enter into similar arrangements with other companies.

* This does not increase Google's share of search traffic. Yahoo! will continue to run its own search engine and advertising programs, and the agreement will not increase Google's share of search traffic.

* This does not let Google raise prices for advertisers. Google does not set the prices manually for ads; rather, advertisers themselves determine prices through an ongoing competitive auction. We have found over years of research that an auction is by far the most efficient way to price search advertising and have no intention of changing that.

The two data centers that appears to be shuffling around include:

• 72.14.207.104
• 64.233.183.104

1) Old sites that have done nothing wrong suddenly dropped out of Google's index around the end of February, early March

2) Cache data has been inaccurate and appallingly unrefreshed even though the index reports that new content and links are working.

3) New sites take excruciatingly long time frames to be indexed whereas up until late February/early March it was a fairly quick and painless process

4) Your index numbers don't agree in Webmaster Central

5) Site: queries don't match up with inurl: queries

6) Many site: and inurl: queries which normally fluctuate for large content sites became "frozen" and continued to report the same numbers every day for at least the last two weeks

7) Less relevant results have floated to the top of many queries because more relevant pages have either dropped out of the index or (temporarily) lost their inbound links

Microsoft Corp.'s decision to drop its pursuit of Yahoo! Inc. increases the pressure on

Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer to make his money-losing Internet business succeed

against Google Inc.


Ballmer and Kevin Johnson, president of Microsoft's Internet unit, met two days ago in

Seattle with Yahoo co-founders Jerry Yang and David Filo, two people familiar with the

negotiations said. Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft, the largest software maker,

offered to raise its $44.6 billion bid by about $5 billion, to $33 a share. Yang and Filo

refused to accept less than $37 a share, the people said.


Google gained 10 percentage points of market share in Internet queries since June,

providing 59.8 percent of the searches done in March, according to researcher ComScore

Inc. in Reston, Virginia.


ABOUT MICROSOFTS BUYS:

Microsoft has spent $7.5 billion on its Internet unit over the past 2 1/2 years,

estimates Matt Rosoff, an analyst at Kirkland, Washington-based Directions on Microsoft.

The online services business lost $745 million last fiscal year as Google outsold

Microsoft in Internet ads by a 7-to-1 margin.

The company released its AdCenter Internet-advertising service two years ago to challenge

Google with a program that targets ads by age, gender and location. Microsoft also bought

Seattle-based AQuantive Inc. in August for $6 billion to gain tools that help advertisers

track the success of their marketing efforts.

We strongly recommend that you move to reverse DNS-based identification of Yahoo! Slurp if you're using any other method to avoid this problem. The current set of IPs will disappear from your web logs in the next several weeks.

b) The crawlers will also publish a new user-agent, 'Yahoo! Slurp/3.0.' Existing robots.txt directives for 'Slurp' or 'Yahoo! Slurp' will continue to work, but if you have directives specific to 'Slurp/2.0,' they won't be recognized by the new crawler (though usage of the 'Slurp/2.0' user-agent is very rare on the web, so you won't likely be affected). We recommend specifying the shorter version of: User-agent: Slurp.

These changes will affect the main Yahoo! Web Search crawlers. Crawlers that similarly respect the Yahoo! Slurp directive but identify themselves more specifically, such as Yahoo! Slurp China and others, will not be impacted.

A leading global Internet company, announced today that it will begin a limited test of Google Inc.'s AdSense for Search service, which will deliver relevant Google ads alongside Yahoo!'s own search results. The test will apply only to traffic from yahoo.com in the U.S. and will not include Yahoo!'s extended network of affiliate or premium publisher partners. The test is expected to last up to two weeks and will be limited to no more than 3% of Yahoo! search queries.

A US man has sold the domain name pizza.com for $2.6m (£1.3m) - after maintaining the site for just $20 a year since 1994.


Regret
Mr Clark registered the domain name in 1994, when the world wide web was just starting.
He had hoped that pizza.com would help to get a contract with a pizza firm for his consulting company.
He sold his business in 2000, but kept paying the $20 annual fees for maintaining the domain, which he also used to sell advertisements.
In January, Mr Clark decided to sell it after hearing that another domain - Vodka.com - was sold for $3m in 2006.
"I thought, 'Why don't I just try to see what the level of interest is?'" Mr Clark said.
"If someone's willing to pay that much for Vodka.com, maybe there's more interest in pizza.com."
The online auction was launched on 27 March. The first bid was $100, jumping to $2.6m a week later.
Having accepted the latter offer, Mr Clark hopes to get his windfall in a few days' time when the transaction is completed.
He said he now regretted not buying more domain names in the 1990s.

Since we closed the acquisition of DoubleClick on March 11, we’ve been immersed in integration planning for each of our products and business units. Recently we completed this process for the DoubleClick Performics businesses, and have decided to split them into two separately-run business units: Affiliate Marketing and Search Marketing.

Tom Phillips, Director, DoubleClick Integration at Google wrote on the Google Blog:

"It’s clear to us that we do not want to be in the search engine marketing business. Maintaining objectivity in both search and advertising is paramount to Google’s mission and core to the trust we ask from our users. For this reason, we plan to sell the Performics search marketing business to a third party. We believe this will allow us to maintain objectivity and the search marketing business to continue to grow and innovate and serve its customers. While we have not yet identified a buyer, we’ve received preliminary interest from a number of our current partners. Search Marketing will continue to run as a separate entity until the division is sold."
